Kefalonia Island
Welcome to one of the most unspoiled gems of the Ionian
The group of islands Kefalonia-Ithaka is famous all over the world for being the birthland of Ulysses. Is one of the most big islands of Greece and has a variety of scenery not easily found in other islands. The first thing that someone notices while on the island is the big mount of Ainos, unusually high for an island of this size.
At winter the top of it is covered by snow very often. The other thing that someone notices is the beautiful beaches and especially the large variety of them. If you want dark sand in a quiet spot, or white pebbles in an organized beach, you will find everything here. If you are adventurous enough you will even find beaches that only have access by a boat.
The capital city of Kefalonia is Argostoli where you will find many services and a lot of busy people reminding of a big city downtown. Also, you will find many small and larger villages (365 in the number actually as the days of the year) that will be happy to welcome you for a nice dinner, a walk by the sea or a café admiring the sunset.
